The book gives in good detail what a computer virus is. It explains how you can get one, how you find them, when they attack, and how they are created. The book also explains the precautions schools take so that their computers don't get stolen or vandalized.

Since my last post I learned how to create games within powerpoint, and how to create and use action buttons. This could be helpful in my career for quizzing or tutoring kids.

My best friend and I decided to go on vacation to North Carolina to see her friend in the Marine Corps. We will see how that works out and if we actually go. Atleast school is almost done for the semester!! :)

The books lists different ways to integrate computers into the classroom such as using it for tutoring or as a teaching assitant. The book also suggests writing an ongoing story with a class, but setting up guidelines for the students.

I'm not quite sure I've learned anything since my last post...

I think writing an ongoing story with an English class (Which is what I'm going to teach) is a great idea. It could be used to help kids strengthen their writing ability and to do something fun, and not too boring.

Prior to looking through this chapter(again) I hadn't known anything about the ASSURE Model, or even how it would be used. I've never had to use it in schools, and it seems slightly difficult to get the jist of. Personally, the KWL charts seem more effective and are much easier to use.

I learned how to evaluate web sources since my last post, which is a useful thing for research papers or papers in general. I learned what an ASSURE Model is, and how to use it.

Nothing really new, just alot of work and school. No time for sleep or anything else really. School seems really hectic and hopefully it will all work out.

Chapter 6 was about education and how teachers should go about using computers in the classroom. It also talked about lesson plans like KWL charts. The high school I went to, had laptops in the library that teachers could "check out" for their classrooms, for group projects and what not. I think this is convenient. Chapter 5 also discussed the role of the school district, which is also pretty important to the education system.

Since last class, I learned some new features on Microsoft Word. But, it's slightly useless, because I have Office 2007 and it's a completely different layout, and much more difficult to navigate through.

Nothing new in life, other than boyfriend is moving up to Tallahassee, or atleast visiting for awhile. I'm very excited. Work is going well, I got my first paycheck! A whole $6.83! That's a paycheck to frame, eh?
