Computers are very important in schools because they teach students vital skills they will need when they enter into the adult working world. Not only can the use of computers in classrooms make it so that teachers can communicate with students, but now educators have access to programs that can help keep children's attention.
I don't think I have gained any knowledge about computers that I was unaware of prior between the period of my last posting and this one. However I hope to learn how to use powerpoint more effectively when it comes time.
I think that technology in schools is an excellent way to keep students attention. In the EDG2701 class that I took over the summer, I learned that if you compose a powerpoint properly children will learn more easily. There is actually a history teacher who makes powerpoints and sells them to other teachers for their own classroom.

I remember reading an article a while back about Powerpoint being the "death of oration." It's a sad but true fact, I think. I like really good lecturers who can engage a class/audience, but Powerpoint gets the point across I suppose.
